Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Brittney Griner netted a career-high 28
points to guide the Phoenix Mercury to a 91-80 win over the Tulsa Shock on
Friday.

Griner shot an efficient 12-of-15 from the floor and blocked six shots, helping Phoenix to its third straight win. Penny Taylor added 19 points for the winners, while Diana Taurasi donated 14 points and 12 assists.

Griner's 28-point outburst came two nights after she tallied her previous career best of 27 points and 18 rebounds in a win over the three-time defending champion Lynx.

Courtney Paris had 15 points and 15 rebounds for Tulsa, which was led by Glory Johnson's 20 points. Skylar Diggins scored 12 with seven helpers.

Tulsa jumped out to an early 10-6 lead on Johnson's jumper midway through the first period, but the Mercury went in front for good on Griner's layup two minutes later.

The margin reached 15 late in the third quarter, as Phoenix coasted to a comfortable victory.
