Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Brittney Griner established career bests
with 27 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Mercury to a 92-79 win over
the Minnesota Lynx.
Diana Taurasi contributed 22 points, 10 boards and six assists. She made half of her 10 3-point shots. Candice Dupree finished with 19 points and DeWanna Bonner scored 15, as the Mercury won for the fourth time in five games.
Phoenix won at Minnesota, 80-72, on Sunday behind 21 points and 11 assists from Taurasi.
Maya Moore scored 36 points for the Lynx. Lindsay Whalen added 22 points in Minnesota's third loss in four games.
Griner scored 10 in the first quarter when the Mercury led by as many as 11 before settling for a 26-17 lead after 10 minutes. The difference was 52-42 at halftime and increased to as many as 16 in the third.
Minnesota trailed 70-60 going to the fourth, but got within five with nearly four minutes remaining. Taurasi then nailed a 3-point shot and Dupree drained a hook shot to push the margin to 84-74 with 2:43 left.
Phoenix held a 41-22 rebounding advantage.
