New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Sophia Young-Malcolm scored 18 points to
help guide the San Antonio Stars to an 87-75 victory against the New York
Liberty on Thursday.
Jia Perkins chipped in with 17 points and four steals, while Kayla McBride and Danielle Adams added 14 points apiece for the Stars, who snapped a two-game losing skid.
Tina Charles tallied 11 points along with seven rebounds and Alex Montgomery scored 10 points for the Liberty, who have dropped three straight.
DeLisha Milton-Jones' layup cut San Antonio's lead to one at 47-46 going into the break. Young-Malcom opened the second half with a 3-pointer, however, and San Antonio outscored New York 25-10 in the third quarter to take a commanding 72-56 lead into the final frame.
The Stars were never threatened in the fourth, with their biggest advantage coming at 22 points.
