Minnesota Lynx defeated the San Antonio Stars, 87-79, on Sunday.
Maya Moore posted 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while Lindsay Whalen added 14 points, 10 assists and six boards for Minnesota, which improved to 7-0.
Jia Perkins netted 16 points off the bench to lead the Stars, who fell to 3-4 on the young campaign.
Jayne Appel's layup pulled San Antonio within 82-79 with 1:01 to play, but Tan White put in an alley-oop layup at the other end. After Perkins missed a jumper, Whalen sunk 3-of-4 foul shots in the waning moments to seal the outcome.
Minnesota, which held a 34-23 rebounding advantage, led 52-45 at the break.
