Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - With Maya Moore's 34 points leading the
way, the Minnesota Lynx opened defense of their 2013 WNBA title with an 89-77
verdict over the Washington Mystics at Verizon Center.
Moore added nine rebounds and Seimone Augustus deposited 24 points in a game the Lynx were in front mostly throughout, though Washington took a 66-65 edge with 8 1/2 minutes remaining following a 7-1 push that Tierra Ruffin-Pratt capped with a successful jumper.
Moore converted a 3-point play on the ensuing possession, however, to ignite an 11-1 spurt that gave Minnesota a 76-67 advantage with 4:33 to go
