Marion County rules the Bluegrass State

BOWLING GREEN, KY -- Not eight, six or even four!  Just a single school each year can claim to be the champion of girls’ basketball in the state of Kentucky.  This year for the first time the champion was Marion County (39-0) of Lebanon, Kentucky.

2013 McDonald's All-American rosters announced

Today the McDonalds All-American Games unveiled the rosters for the 12th annual McDonald's All-American Girls Team.  The game will feature the first ever father/daughter duo with Taya Reimer (Hamilton Southeastern – Indianapolis, Ind.), daughter of Ben Davis who was a McDonald's All-American in 1991.

WBCA names 2013 All-American Team

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the 20 player roster for the 22nd WBCA All-American Game presented by Nike to be played on April 6  in New Orleans.  For the fourth consecutive year, the game will be played on the official NCAA Women’s Final Four court. The roster will be divided into two 10-player teams for the game, which will be played according to NCAA rules. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m. CT.

Davis and DeShields top the Naismith Early-Season Watch List

Six top high school seniors have been named to this year's Naismith Girl's High School Player of the Year Early-Season Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club, sponsor of the prestigious award, announced today. All six are ranked in the top 10 of the 2013 Full Court Fresh 50. Interestingly, in this guard-rich recruiting class, all but one of those selected are either guards or wings.

The rich get richer: Duke lands a pair of elite recruits

Duke women’s basketball coach Joanne P. McCallie thought she was getting bad news when top recruit Rebecca Greenwell called her on Oct. 11. The 6-1 shooting guard,rated as fourth best player in the class of 2013 by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, had just been on campus for an official visit the weekend before, taking in a football game and getting a run at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
