WBCA names 2013 All-American Team

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the 20 player roster for the 22nd WBCA All-American Game presented by Nike to be played on April 6  in New Orleans.  For the fourth consecutive year, the game will be played on the official NCAA Women’s Final Four court. The roster will be divided into two 10-player teams for the game, which will be played according to NCAA rules. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m. CT.

Whitney Young headlines the Naples Holiday Shootout

Someone MUST have been nice instead of naughty this year -- Santa Claus has delivered our wish to see some of the best matchups in girls’ basketball this weekend at the Naples Holiday Shootout in Florida.

The national tournament, hosted at Barron Collier High School, is rapidly being recognized as one of the top holiday events in the country -- this year the strong field of teams is second only to the Nike Tournament of Champions.

2012 Nike Skills Academy

This "big" has a solid frame with good muscular thickness.  Her conditioning is excellent for a strongly built low post.  She runs well and is a solid finisher around basket, even having some range to just beyond the middle of the key.  She will have her pick of high BCS programs in the South.  - Bob Corwin

ORLANDO, FL – From open to close, the U17 World Championship Team put together a dominating performance for a lopsided 80-38 win over Brazil on Thursday night at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

The final roster for the 2012 U17 World Championship Team has been set with a mix of experience and first time players.

"It feels great; I’m really excited", said Kai James (William T Dwyer High School) who is one of five first time players on the squad. "It’s very surprising. It shows that all your work, your hard work in the gym, it pays off."

Nike Skills Academy Atlanta: Talent Galore

Some camps have it and some don’t.  With 52 players attending, the Nike Skills Academy camp held at Norcross High School (Georgia) on April 28-29 saw a talent collection rarely found in one gym.   As it turned out, even the no-shows were a group that could compose a fine set of major division one recruits.
