USA Basketball U17 Trials
Russell is not the next Brittney Griner, but she’s a mobile 6-5 post who doesn’t mind contact. She’s still a little stiff at times, but also looks like she’ll add upper body strength. One reason the women’s game is moving away from post play is because there aren’t that many players like Russell – and her rarity makes her even more valuable. - Clay Kallam
USA Basketball U17 Training Camp
At 6-5 Russell is much more fluid and agile than one would expect. She has the ability to face up and knock down the short jumper as well as post up on the low block. She is a good rebounder and knows how to find the open player and doesn't force bad shots when she's being well defended, but opts to kick it out. - Kelly Kline
In 2012 won gold as a member of the USA Women’s U17 World Championship Team. Was a member of the 2011 USA Basketball Women’s U16 National Team where she set USA U16 single-game records of 15 rebounds and five blocked shots.
