2012 Battle in the Boro
Davis continues to mature in all aspects of her game and is developing more consistency in her shot, both deep and at midrange. She was the Flight’s best player in this event. Coach Tom Insell on Kaela Davis: “If she keeps improving, she will be one of the best in the world someday. She has to keep getting better but has the talent to do so.” - Bob Corwin
2012 Boo Williams Invitational
Davis was in attack mode for most of this event, not settling for an excessive number of perimeter shots, something she had been known to do during this past high school season. If she continues to play as she did in Hampton, she should have a good chance to continue to justify that top-five ranking. Earlier this year Davis re-opened the recruiting process, after a verbal commitment to the University of Tennessee as a freshman. She should not be lacking high quality BCS offers in its place. - Bob Corwin
2012 U17 USA Basketball Training Camp
Davis consistently knocked down the midrange jumper and scored easily in transition. She is very tough to defend on the fast break and defenders are forced to foul, in which case she is very good at the free throw line. She has a strong athletic frame and can take contact. Defensively she takes plays off, but when she does commit to defense, opposing players rarely score. - Kelly Kline
USA Basketball: Led Team USA to a gold medal as part of the 2012 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championship. Earned gold as a member of the 2012 USA Women’s U17 World Championship Team. Earned gold as a member of the 2011 USA Basketball Women’s U16 National Team. Member of the 2011 USA 3x3 Youth World Championship Team that earned an honorary bronze medal.
