2012 Basketball on the Bayou

Coates is a big physical post player that reminds me of WNBA great Yolanda Griffith.  She is a relentless rebounder and a solid defender getting plenty of blocked shots and tip balls.  She has solid footwork and scores in a variety of ways on the low block.  - Kelly Kline

2012 AAU Super Showcase Gold Division

A reality unknown nationally, Coates had a break-out showing in Orlando. It would seem impossible for a 6’5” post with sprinter speed, clasping hands and a build comparable to only players at the next level to go unnoticed, but to a significant degree Coates had been.  An intimidating shot-blocker, Coates currently holds scholarships offers from multiple top- 20 programs from throughout the country and has supplanted her self among the elite prospects in the class of 2013. As a long-term prospect, there may not be a better buy. - Kelvin Powell
