2014 FIBA Women's World Basketball Championship Live Scores
A'ja Wilson, the top uncommitted senior in the 2014 class, will take her first official visit -- to the University of Connecticut -- from Oct. 17-20, and a second official visit to the University of North Carolina the following weekend.
"I'm very excited to take my first official visit," Wilson told Full Court by phone as she was packing her bags for Storrs.
The 6-5 wing, ranked No. 2 in the Full Court Fresh 50, said she will be on campus for Connecticut's "First Night" festivities on Friday, Oct. 18, to witness the season debuts of the 2013-14 Huskies' men's and women's basketball teams.
Wilson, the star player for Heathwood Hall Episcopal in Columbia, S.C., has been very tight-lipped about her top five schools. But the prize recruit of the 2014 class told Full Court she is also scheduled to be in Chapel Hill, N.C., on October 25th for the Tarheels' "Late Night" basketball event and will then curtail all official visits until January.
Wilson, who averaged 27.4 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3.2 assists and 3 steals per game last season, confirmed that she expects to take all five of the NCAA-authorized official visits and will not announce her final decision until the spring.
