Brianna Turner is the No. 1 recruit in the 2014 class. The 6-3 forward from Manvel High School in Texas has narrowed her list to Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Notre Dame and Stanford.
Turner had narrowed her choices to Baylor, Duke, UConn, Stanford and Notre Dame, but settled on the Irish.
"I've committed to play basketball at the University of Notre Dame," wrote Turner on her blog. "The other final schools I considered did nothing wrong in my process. No coaching changes or past player commentary affected my decision. All of the schools are great, and I have nothing but respect for the time they took to recruit me. I've been recruited since seventh grade by some schools. It's really hard to just to drop the great relationships, but it's part of the recruiting process."
Turner is a two-time gold medalist for USA Basketball, once as a member of the 2012 USA Women’s U17 World Championship team and another as part of the 2012 3x3 U18 team.
The 6-3 forward averaged 20.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 3.5 steals for Manvel High School in Texas last year.
