Whitney Young star Linnae Harper is a 5-7 guard who has signed with Kentucky. She won gold on the U17 USA team and was named to both the McDonald's & WBCA All-American teams.
With the High School All-American games right around the corner, we started thinking about the players that we're amped up to watch play -- and for sure, Linnae Harper of Whitney Young High School in Chicago, is at the top of the list.
The 5-7 guard, who is ranked No. 7 in the FullCourt Fresh 50, was named to both the McDonalds and WBCA All-American teams. If you've ever seen her play, you know why -- the Kentucky signee is so skilled she has been been given several nicknames by her teammates including "franchise" and "homicide", dubs that are characteristic of her game.
It's a pretty regular occurance for Linnae to drop 30+ points and she does it very creatively with studder steps, cross overs, eurosteps and a flair that come from years of practice in Chi-town. This weekend, she's gunning for her third straight Illinois State Championship. We're calling it now... She'll get MVP of the state tournament and she's our pick to win MVP of at least on of the All-American games.
