WBCA names 2013 All-American Team

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the 20 player roster for the 22nd WBCA All-American Game presented by Nike to be played on April 6  in New Orleans.  For the fourth consecutive year, the game will be played on the official NCAA Women’s Final Four court. The roster will be divided into two 10-player teams for the game, which will be played according to NCAA rules. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m. CT.

Nineteen of the 20 All-Americans are ranked in the 2013 Full Court Fresh 50 (each name is linked to player profile page).  In addition, players from eleven states were selected to participate in the prestigous game, California led the way with five players -- Oderah Chidom, Kendall Cooper, Erica McCall, Kelsey Plum and Karlie Samuelson-- while three players from Georgia got the nod -- Lexie Brown, Kaela Davis and Diamond DeSheilds.

Twelve USA Basketball players made the list including Lindsay Allen, Lexie Brown, Kendall Cooper, Oderah Chidom, Kaela Davis, Diamond DeShields, Rebecca Greenwell Linnae Harper, Erica McCall, Taya Reimer, Mercedes Russell and Jessica Washington.

An additional 20 players who did not make the team were given an honorable mention.

The game, which first started in 1992, has played host to some of the biggest names in women's basketball history including: Katie Smith, Chamique Holdsclaw, Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings, Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter, Seimone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles, Ephiphanny Prince, Maya Moore and Brittney Griner.
