No. 7 Maryland holds off Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Tianna Hawkins and Alyssa Thomas scored 23 points apiece as seventh-ranked Maryland defeated Wake Forest, 73-63, on Friday.

Using just six players, Maryland (19-3, 10-1 ACC) earned its ninth straight victory, as it faces Duke, the only team undefeated in conference play, on Monday. Malina Howard, the lone player off the Terrapins bench, scored 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting.

Chelsea Douglas had 17 points, while Asia Williams recorded 13 points and eight rebounds for Wake Forest, which has lost five straight
