At a special banquet and awards show in Los Angeles the night before the ESPY's, Breanna Stewart was named the 10th annual Gatorade Female High School Athlete of the Year.  She accepted the award from WNBA star Lisa Leslie and soccer star Brandi Chastain.  Stewart wore a silky blue dress with open shoulders to the formal event and thanked her parents, coaches and supporters for her success.

Stewart, who will play for the University of Connecticut this fall, is a 6-4 forward from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in upstate New York and will represent the United States later this month at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship as a member of the U18 National Team.  As a senior, Stewart led the Northstars to a 19-3 record averaging 25.7 points, 13.1 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 3.2 assists and 3.2 steals a game and was rated as the number one girls basketball player for the class of 2013 by multiple scouting services.
