Jennie Brown of the Georgia Metros is emerging as a talented point guard for the class of 2018.

D1 Spects' Tournament of Americas should have used the name Tournament of Stars this past Saturday.  There were several rising stars showcasing there game in front of lookers such as Utah Jazz star Derrick Favors. The South Atlanta High alumnus was on hand to check out the young talent of both girls and boys. There was many talented young ladies on site, from sixth graders showcasing basketball IQ of high school seniors to junior post players displaying moves that had Favors head shaking.  The following players from both Georgia stood out.

2018

Jennie Brown - Georgia Metros, 5-6 point guard

Brown is a true point guard with a great IQ for the game. Brown is a firecracker with a lot of energy and does a good job putting her teammates in position to make easy baskets.  She is tough and not afraid to take the ball into the giant's territory. Defensively she is active from baseline to baseline.  The guard has quick hands which lead to several deflections and opportunities for her team.  Brown has a very nice game and reminds me of current Georgia Metros 2013 star Allisha Grey who is verbally committed to North Carolina.

Carolyn Hoard - Georgia Hoopstars, 5-5 guard, Stephenson Middle School, Lithonia,  GA

The lefty guard is a tough little player. Hoard a very active guard that will use either hand in open court. She dribbles the ball low with great protection with her body. Defensively she is fierce and has the mind set that she can stop any one on the court.

2017

Morgan Collins - FBC White,5-7 point guard

This very laid back point guard that doesn't get rattled, Collins keeps her team calm and focused.  This point guard that makes the right plays at the right time. Showed maturity at times in the game when the opponents were on a run. An average ball defender but with development she will be one to keep an eye on.

Arsula Clark - FBC White, Henry County Middle School

Clark showed the ability to take over game at will. She displayed a desire for the game that many at her age don't possess. Clark is very athletic and has the ability to score from all over the floor. She has good ball handling skills and can create her own shot.  She defends well while frustrating the offense with her aggressiveness.

2014

Marjorie Bonner - Chattanooga Elite, Dade County High School

Bonner caught my eye with her energy on the floor. Her ability to rebound and start the break was exciting to watch. She has a high basketball IQ and is a playmaker. Bonner shot the ball fairly well and she has excellent command of her dribble.

Marissa Bowman - Georgia Pistols, Peachtree Ridge High School

The 5-8 point guard is very good at her craft. Bowman looks to set up her teammates for easy shots. In the open court she is able to switch directions easily. Bowman penetrates well and looks to score or dish. She is very good at reading the defense for the best shot possible.
