Penn State picked up the last of the team admission passes to this weekend’s Kingston (RI) Regional portion of the NCAA Sweet 16 when the fourth-seeded Lady Lions rode sophomore Maggie Lucas’ 30 points to a 90-80 victory over fifth-seeded LSU Tuesday night on the Tigers’ court in Baton Rouge, La.
The dubious prize, unfortunately, is a Sunday night matchup with top-seeded Connecticut (31-1) before 11th-seeded Gonzaga (28-5), one of the so-called Cinderellas from the original 64-team field, meets second-seeded Kentucky (27-6).
