Ohio State was 20-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 Monday morning, and looked ready to run the table in the Big Ten Conference. That is, until Monday night, when they ran into a buzz saw in West Lafayette, Indiana as the Purdue Boilermakers snapped the Buckeyes' 12-ame winning streak in a 63-61 upset.
Purdue was led by its freshmen, as K.K. Houser scored a career-high 18 points and went a perfect eight-for-eight from the free-throw line. Fellow frosh Sam Ostarello chipped in another 14 points, plus seven boards, and Alex Guyton, also a freshman, contributed a career-high five rebounds.
