Duke women erupt in second half to rout Miami

Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Tricia Liston scored 17 points and helped spark a huge second-half run that propelled No. 5 Duke to an 82-43 victory over Miami-Florida in an ACC clash from Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Meighan Simmons scored 21 points and No. 9 Tennessee clamped down defensively on Mississippi State in an 88-45 victory at Thompson-Boling Arena on Thursday.

Tulsa Shock ink jersey deal

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Shock became the seventh team in the WNBA to ink a jersey advertising partnership.

On Thursday, at a press conference in Tulsa that was attended by WNBA president Laurel Richie, the Shock announced they have entered into a multi-year marquee partnership with Osage Casino.  The terms of the deal were not disclosed but do include the Osage Casino logo appearing on the Shock home and away jerseys beginning this coming season.

Is Notre Dame better than last year?

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lady Vols had an all time record of 8-0 against Notre Dame in Knoxville -- at least until Skylar Diggins came to town Monday night and put up a career high 33 points to lead No. 2 Notre Dame past ninth-ranked Tennessee, 77-67.

For coaches and players, this is extremely basic, and I’m guessing that even casual fans can visualize that fundamental offensive maneuver.

In soccer, it’s known as the give-and-go, but Notre Dame adds the tweak of a screen for the cutter, making it a little more difficult to defend.

Chucky Jeffery's toughness -- and skill -- sparks Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – Linda Lappe may be a women’s basketball coach, but she’s laying the foundation of a revitalized Colorado program with a former football player.

Chucky Jeffery, a 5-10 senior guard, played football for eight years in her younger days, and that toughness shows up on the court for the resurgent Buffs, who are 15-4 this year. Jeffery is the leading scorer at 13.3 ppg, and shoots 44.4 percent from the floor, but that football mentality is shown in the 8.2 rpg she gets from the point guard position.
