Duke dominates Vandy, advances to round of 16

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Haley Peters scored 25 points, leading all five starters in double figures, as the Duke Blue Devils posted a 96-80 win over Vanderbilt in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Memorial Gym.

Notre Dame conquers Cal in second round

Notre Dame, IN (Sports Network) - Natalie Novosel delivered a game-high 28 points as Notre Dame topped California, 73-62, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Purcell Pavilion.

Griner dunks Florida, leads Lady Bears to Sweet 16

Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) - Brittney Griner registered a game-high 25 points, leading all five starters in double figures, as Baylor delivered a 76-57 win against Florida in the second round of the Des Moines Regional of the NCAA Tournament at the Stroh Center.

Bonnies bounce Red Foxes in second round

Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - A pair of free throws by CeCe Dixon with 23 seconds remaining helped to give St. Bonaventure some breathing room as the Bonnies held on for a 66-63 win over Marist in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Tucker Center.

Georgia Tech tackles Hoyas on way to Sweet 16

Chapel Hill, NC (Sports Network) - Sydney Wallace scored a game-high 23 points, leading four players in double figures, as Georgia Tech topped Georgetown, 76-64, in second-round action of the NCAA Tournament at Carmichael Arena.

Raleigh Regional: Down to the wire for Maryland and Texas A&M

Day one of the second round of the NCAA tournament in the Raleigh region featured a couple of highly competitive nail-biters.  Maryland and Louisville (a budding rivalry, albeit one with bad blood on the coaching end of things) swapped leads late in the game until the home-standing Terps made just enough plays to win.  Texas A&M coughed up a big lead late in the game, only to win the contest at the foul line.  There's no question that home court advantage aided both teams.

St. Johns looks to oust Oklahoma from their sweet 16 run

St. John’s barely survived the first round of the NCAA tournament against Creighton and has never been beyond the second.

Oklahoma blew through the first round against Michigan, and in their history under Coach Sherri Coale, the Sooners own the second.

So when higher-seeded St. Johns takes the floor at Oklahoma on Tuesday night, history and setting will be working against the Red Storm in a big way.  But before Kim Barnes Arico’s team gets tangled in historical trends, they have to free their minds and remember what got them here.

Kingston Regional: Wipeout, Upset and Dramatic Finish Send Three To New England

On a day that a previous $1 million investment came up dry at the University of Texas, three teams used various ways Monday night to land spots in this weekend’s Kingston (R.I.) Regional at the University of Rhode Island’s Ryan Center, which begins Sunday as part of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
