Mid-major tournament report: 15 mid-major leagues head into final weekend of tournament action

Eight mid-major conferences have already crowned their new tournament champions. Fifteen more are headed into their final weekend of play.

No. 2 Stanford advances to Pac-12 semis with rout of Washington

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Nnemkadi Ogwumike netted 18 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists as second-ranked Stanford crushed Washington, 76-57, in Pac-12 quarterfinal action at the Galen Center on Thursday.

Griner, No. 1 Baylor remain unbeaten

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Brittney Griner littered the stat sheet with 15 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and four assists, and No. 1 Baylor remained the nation's lone undefeated team with a 72-48 rout of Texas Tech in a Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal on Thursday.

Low seeds take the upper hand in first round of PAC 12 Tournament

 

The Galen Center turned into the land of the upsets on Wednesday as the 10th, 11th and 12th seeds advanced to the quarterfinals.  As a result, a trio of coaches thought destined for a quick flight out of LAX instead floated from the arena to the team bus back to their hotels and slept like babies.

Mid-major tournament report: Colonial, Big Sky and Big South conference tournaments tip off Thursday, Friday

The last three mid-major conferences tournaments are due to tip off on Thursday and Friday, as the Colonial, Big Sky and Big South join the 20 others whose championship tournaments are either underway or already completed. Including the three "newcomers" a total of 15 mid-major conference tournament titles will be settled on the court this Saturday and Sunday.

No. 10 Green Bay defeats Valpo, advances to semis

Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Julie Wojta scored 17 points, as No. 10 Green Bay downed Valparaiso, 77-53, in Wednesday's Horizon League Tournament quarterfinal matchup.
