Tennessee holds off LSU for third straight SEC title

Glory Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed 10 boards to lead the Lady Vols to a third consecutive SEC Championship with a 70-58 victory over LSU.  It was the Vols 16th SEC Championship title overall.

Purdue edges Nebraska, 74-70, in double overtime to take eighth Big Ten Tournament title in thrilling finish

It was everything you could ask in a tournament title game.

Two blue-collar teams, each with solid coaching, no swagger and a ton of heart, duked it out for 50 minutes, matching each other blow for blow and taking two overtimes to decide the Big Ten Conference Tournament championship.

In the end, No. 6 seed Nebraska was edged by No. 4 seed Purdue, 74-70.

No. 3 Notre Dame downs DePaul, advances to semifinals

Maryland downs Georgia Tech to win ACC title

Greensboro, NC (Sports Network) - Alyssa Thomas netted a career-high 29 points, lifting No. 6 Maryland to a 68-65 victory over No. 15 Georgia Tech in the championship game of the ACC Tournament on Sunday.

Given that -- for the first time since 1992 -- none of the North Carolina teams was playing in the final, the crowd at today's ACC Women's Basketball Tournament championship game was surprisingly large and noisy. Maryland brought along a fairly large group of fans, but most of those in attendance simply seemed to be fans of ACC basketball in general.

St. John's Prepares For New Role as Big East's No. 2 Seed

As the league's elite make their appearances in the Big East Championship Tournament after enjoying double byes for the opening rounds, most eyes will be focused on Notre Dame, the league's regular-season champion and tournament top seed. Ranked No. 3 in both major polls, the Irish defeated national No. 4 (and tournament three-seed) Connecticut, 72-59, last Monday, stealing the regular-season Big East title from the Huskies for the first time in five years.

Glory Johnson posted 19 of her 23 points in the second half to lead a dominant surge by the Lady Vols for a 74-58 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.  With the win, Tennessee advances to their third straight SEC Championship game where they will face LSU.

“Getting to the championship game is huge”, said Johnson. “We’ve put in so much work in practice, I think it means a lot that we can show people what we’ve been working on.”
