Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Georgetown has named Natasha Adair its
new women's basketball coach.
Adair was an assistant Georgetown for six seasons from 1998-2004, and spent the past two years as the head coach at the College of Charleston.
"I'm very pleased to introduce Natasha as the new head coach for our women's basketball program," said Georgetown athletic director Lee Reed in a statement Monday. "She is a rising star in the coaching ranks and the success each of her schools have had is a testament to the hard work she has put in with her student-athletes. She will ensure that our young women develop both on and off the floor and we are very excited to welcome her and her family back home and to the Hilltop."
Adair led College of Charleston to a record of 19-15 this past season after 16 wins in her first campaign. The Cougars reached the Women's Basketball Invitational after each season.
Before taking over at Charleston, Adair spent eight seasons as an assistant at Wake Forest.
