Bulldogs, 74-55, in first-round action of the NCAA Tournament at Pauley
Emily Cady (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Rachel Theriot (10 points, 12 assists) also tallied double-doubles for the fourth-seeded Cornhuskers (26-6), who will face BYU in the second round. Tear'a Laudermill chipped in 13 points to the winning effort.
For 13th-seeded Fresno State (22-11), Taylor Thompson was the only player in double figures with 14 points to go with nine boards.
Nebraska shot only 35.3 percent from the field in the first half, but Fresno State was even worse at 25.9 percent, as the Cornhuskers took a 29-19 lead into the halftime locker room.
The Bulldogs showed fight in the second half, bringing their deficit to just seven with 6:28 to play, but the Cornhuskers created separation by running off a 13-2 surge.
Nebraska earned a 17-9 scoring advantage at the free-throw line and outrebounded Fresno State, 46-35.
