points in overtime as No. 3 Duke survived a scare from 24th-ranked Florida
State and pulled out an 85-77 victory at the Tucker Center.
The Blue Devils trailed 73-69 with under 1 1/2 minutes remaining in regulation before forcing extra time on two Liston free throws and an Alexis Jones jumper with 30 seconds remaining.
Duke (19-1, 6-0) then scored the first nine points of overtime to come through with its eighth consecutive win following a blowout loss to top-ranked Connecticut on Dec. 17.
Elizabeth Williams added 20 points and Richa Jackson posted 14 along with 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Jones finished with 13 points while tying a Duke single-game record with 15 assists.
Florida State (14-5, 2-4) came up short despite a monster outing from Natasha Howard, who racked up 28 points on 14-of-21 shooting while pulling down 22 rebounds and blocking five shots. Morgan Jones had 15 points and 10 boards for the Seminoles, who outrebounded Duke by a 51-42 margin.
The Seminoles were in position for the upset after taking a 59-51 lead on a Howard layup with just under 11 minutes left in the second half. Duke cut the margin down to five points heading into the final five minutes of regulation, then put together a 7-2 run in which Liston netted five points to tie the contest at 69-69.
